Our Mission

To provide sustainable, trauma informed, person-in-community centered, and accessible healthcare to underserved rural communities, especially those disproportionately affected by HIV, STIs, and hepatitis, by bridging conventional evidence based medicine and Indigenous traditional medicine. Explore what we offer

Riverside Family Medicine utilizes the innovative DPC model where providers partner directly with their patients to provide comprehensive primary care services - including behavioral health - for a flat, no surprises, monthly membership fee. Dr. Colt chose this model in order for patients to be able to spend more time with their providers, schedule them more quickly, protect their privacy, and offer more transparency in healthcare costs.

While our clinic is located in upstate New York, we are also able to provide telehealth services to adults located in Texas, Minnesota and throughout New York state. Using DPC, we are able to spend more time on what matters most to patients instead of filing paperwork, checking boxes, and documentation for insurance companies and government agencies. At Riverside Family Medicine, you will be treated as the most important member of your healthcare team, and never as just a number.

Telehealth Visits

Secure video and phone visits for adults located in New York, Texas, and Minnesota. Telehealth works well for follow-ups, medication management, counseling sessions, lab review, and many acute concerns, so you can be seen from home, work, or anywhere with a private connection and no travel to the office.

Psychological Assessment

Comprehensive psychological evaluation and testing performed by a PhD clinical psychologist. Assessments can clarify questions around attention, learning, mood, cognition, and personality, and produce clear written findings you can use for treatment planning, school and workplace accommodations, or documentation needs.

Primary Care

Relationship-based primary care for the whole family in Oneonta, NY. Annual physicals, sick visits, and ongoing management of diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid conditions, and more, plus STI testing and treatment, contraception counseling, and PrEP. Longer appointments and direct access to your clinician mean care that actually fits your life.

Laser Hair Removal

Safe, comfortable laser hair removal for every skin type, Fitzpatrick I through VI, using the Alma Soprano platform. Its cooled, gradual-heating technology makes treatment tolerable on sensitive areas and effective on deeper skin tones. Affirming, respectful care for BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ patients, including gender-affirming hair removal.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy

Ketamine assisted psychotherapy for treatment resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, and the kind of stuckness that has not moved with medication or talk therapy alone. The prescribing, the dosing, and the therapy itself are handled by one clinician who is both a physician and a psychologist, in the office in Oneonta.

Injectable PrEP

Long acting injectable PrEP for HIV prevention, given as a shot every two months instead of a pill every day. Testing, lab work, and follow up are handled in the office in Oneonta, with no insurance billing and no record of your care going anywhere you did not send it.

Individual Counseling

One-on-one counseling with a physician-psychologist who understands how mental and physical health shape each other. Trauma-informed, person-centered, and judgement-free support for anxiety, depression, grief, identity, chronic illness, and life transitions. Available in person in Oneonta or by secure telehealth.

Documentation Support

Medical letters, forms, and records handled with care and privacy. We assist with disability and leave paperwork, school and employer forms, insurance documentation, letters of medical necessity, and advocacy letters. Requests are reviewed by your clinician and returned promptly, with your confidentiality protected at every step.

Care Navigation & Coordination

The healthcare system is hard to navigate alone. We help you find the right specialist, coordinate referrals and records, prepare for appointments, and connect with community resources for housing, food, transportation, and financial assistance. You get one point of contact who knows your history and follows through.

Dr. Colt St. Amand

At the heart of Riverside Family Medicine is Dr. Colt St. Amand, a Mayo Clinic–trained family physician and PhD clinical psychologist.

Following in the footsteps of his psychologist father and gynecologist mother, Dr. Colt founded the practice in 2025 to provide wholistic, accessible, patient-centered primary care with behavioral health integration — careful, compassionate, and judgement-free treatment for patients from all walks of life.
